How to Buy Equipment

This article shows you the fastest ways to find equipment and complete a purchase on the Investment Recovery (IR) ecommerce portal—whether you’re bidding in an auction or buying from a fixed-price catalog listing.

Before you start

You can browse without signing in.
To place bids, submit Buy Now requests, or make offers, you may be required to register and/or accept the Terms of Sale (requirements are shown on each listing).

Get back to the Home page anytime

Click the company logo at the top-left of the toolbar to return to Home.

Find equipment (three quick paths)

1) From Home: Featured listings

On the Home page you’ll see two featured sections:

Featured Auction Listings
- Each tile shows: equipment thumbnail, location, auction end time, and current bid.
- Click a tile to open the listing’s detail page.
Featured Catalog Listings
- Each tile shows: equipment thumbnail, location, and asking price.
- Click a tile to open the listing’s detail page.

2) Top toolbar: Simple Search

Click the search icon in the top toolbar.
A search box expands—type a keyword (make, model, asset ID, etc.) and press Enter.

Need more filters? Use Advanced Search in the footer. It provides a full form with additional filters you can combine (location, category, price range, and more).

3) Home: Browse by Category

On the Home page, scroll to Categories.
Use Auction Categories to browse auction listings and Catalog Categories to browse catalog listings.

Use the listing detail page

Common image tools (auctions & catalog)

Hover over the main image to zoom.
Click thumbnail images to swap the main image.
Click the main image to open a zoomed carousel; use next/previous to review all images.

Auction listing details

On an auction detail page you can:

Review key information:
- Current bid, auction end time, Auction ID, bidding style, quantity and unit of measure, terms of sale, item location, status (open/expired), auction start time, minimum bid increment, registration required (yes/no) , and the detailed description.
Click Bid History to view the historical bid table.
Place a Bid:
1. Enter your bid amount (must meet/increase by the minimum increment).
2. Confirm any prompts and accept the Terms of Sale if prompted.
3. Submit. You’ll see confirmation if your bid is accepted.
Inquire About This Item to send a question to the IR team.

Catalog listing details

On a catalog detail page you can:

Review key information:
- Buy Now Price, Asking Price, Listing ID, quantity and unit of measure, terms of sale, item location, stock status (in stock / not in stock), registration required (yes/no), and the detailed description.
Buy Now (Purchase Request):
1. Enter the Buy Now quantity.
2. Click Buy Now to submit your purchase request.
3. Follow prompts to confirm and accept the Terms of Sale if prompted.
Make an Offer:
1. Enter your offer amount (and optional message).
2. Submit to begin an offer / counter-offer negotiation with the IR team.
Inquire About This Item to send a question to the IR team.

Quick tips for successful buying

Watch end times on auctions; place your best bid early and monitor activity via the Bid History.
Respect the minimum bid increment; bids below it won’t be accepted.
Check location and terms of sale so you understand pickup, preparation, or other conditions before committing.
Registration requirement is shown on each listing—complete it in advance to avoid last-minute blockers.
Use Advanced Search (footer) when you need multi-criteria filtering.
Not sure about condition, accessories, or loading? Use Inquire About This Item—earlier questions lead to smoother transactions.

Troubleshooting

Can’t place a bid / Buy Now / Offer?
- Ensure the listing is open/in stock, you’ve met the minimum increment (auctions), and any registration steps are complete.
Images not enlarging?
- Click the main image (not the thumbnail) to open the zoomed carousel.
Search returns too many results?
- Use Advanced Search in the footer and add filters (category, location, price range).

Summary

Return to Home via the logo.
Discover items from Featured sections, Simple Search (toolbar), or Categories.
On the detail page, zoom images, review all parameters, and then Bid, Buy Now, Make an Offer, or Inquire—whichever fits the listing type.
